Research programs in the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology are focused on comparative medicine, laboratory animal health, emerging and vector borne infectious diseases, studies of biodefense-related organisms, and the molecular and genetic basis of disease, including spinal muscle atrophy, polycystic kidney disease, and canine inherited diseases. Expertise in bacteriology, virology, parasitology, clinical and anatomical pathology, and laboratory animal medicine provide for a highly collaborative research environment and excellent opportunities for graduate and postdoctoral training.
