Research emphasis: Dr. Livingston's research focuses on the development of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays and recombinant antigen-based immunoassays to detect microbial infections in laboratory animals. Specific projects include cloning and sequencing of mouse thymic virus (MTV), an unclassified herpes virus of mice, and cloning and identification of an uncharacterized viral respiratory pathogen of rats.
