COLLEGE REGULATIONS AND GUIDELINES AFFECTING STUDENTS - Possible Exposure to Rabies

In cases of suspected exposure to rabies the following actions should be taken:

1. Clean the wound immediately with copious amounts of water and a mild soap. Perform other first aid procedures as necessary (pressure bandage for arterial bleeding, etc.).

2. Notify your instructor or immediate supervisor.

3. Contact the college's Office of Academic Affairs at 884-6774. They will make arrangements for immediate care at the MU Student Health Service. Post-exposure anti-rabies vaccinations will be paid by the college.
