Student Chapter of the Association for Women Veterinarians

On Thursday, June 15th 2006 6-8 pm Adams Coference Center SCAWV held the panel discussion:
Handling a Pregnancy in Veterinary Medicine
that featured UMC-CVM's own Drs. LaCarrubba, Kelmer, and Fine
and Ob/Gyn Dr. Renee Boulicault from Women's Health Associates
as well as Dr. Burton Schauf from Pet Center Ltd.
Several Issues were discussed including:
experiences of vets that have been pregnant during internship/residency program, during specialty practice, with Small and Large animal perspectives, health perspective on protecting a pregnancy from radiology, anesthetics, vaccines, drugs, and an employer's perspective on pregnancy in veterinary medicine.
