An
endowed position is one of the highest honors in academia.
It is bestowed upon those who have not only shown excellence
in their area of expertise, but in a commitment to pass
along such knowledge to the next generation.
An endowed professorship or chair in each of the following would provide these areas with predictable annual funding, allowing the named professor to create centers of excellence:
Small Animal Medicine &/or Surgery
Food Animal Medicine &/or Surgery
Equine Medicine &/or Surgery
These endowments would join other College professorship/programmatic endowments previously established by Nestle Purina, Bill & Nancy Laurie, Tom & Betty Scott, Ruth Kraeuchi, Col. Charles & Charlene McKee, Thelma Zalk, and Olive Gilbreath-McLorn.
