The
Veterinary Medicine Building is at the heart of the
college's missions. This is where students receive their
first two years of professional education, where scientists
study the fundamental processes of disease and injuries,
and students and clinicians come to relax, study, and
socialize after a tough day.
Built in the 1960s and '70s, the
building is handling more students and more advanced
technology than ever dreamed of. Additional classrooms,
an expanded veterinary library, laboratory space, and
student resource areas are desperately needed.
This can best be done by building a new wing. This area will house the renovated library and student bookstore, free up additional classroom and lab space, and provide a covered walkway between the teaching hospital and the Veterinary Medicine Building.
Progress on this plan has already been made through generous contributions by Thelma Zalk of St. Louis and alumni Dr. Jim Nave.
