Companion
animal medicine is the core of veterinary medicine.
Analogous to a doctor's office, this is where fundamental
pet care, vaccinations, bite injury treatment, and preventive
medicine is delivered.
The MU College of Veterinary Medicine has an enviable reputation for educating the best companion animal veterinarians. An opportunity exists to expand on this already impressive program.
Under this plan, a free-standing
companion animal clinic would be established. This facility
would provide students with more significant real world
medicine through best practice business principles.
Depending on funding, it is envisioned that the Barkley
House concept could be incorporated into the design.
