The
John W. Connaway Society is being established to help
continue the vision of Dr. Connaway. The society is
a symbol of the abiding interest of its members on the
welfare of the college. Founding members of the society
are the backbone of the University of Missouri- Columbia’s
College of Veterinary Medicine.
The John W. Connaway Society has
been formed to encourage private participation in the
support and development of the college, and its mem
bership is dedicated to securing the future of the College
of Veterinary Medicine. Through their active involvement,
founding members maintain the college’s leadership
role and sustain Dr. Connaway’s vision of excellence.
Membership:
Founding membership in the John W. Connaway Society
is based on prior and current giving to the College
of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
There are two types of founding memberships, sustaining
and annual. Membership by husband and wife shall be
considered joint membership.
Donors may designate gifts
as restricted and are invited to direct the gift to
whatever fund or purpose the donor desires, provided
the use is for a legitimate college purpose. Donors
may also designate their gifts as unrestricted to support
the needs of the college that cannot be met with state
funds such as scholarships, fellowships, research, faculty
enhancement funds and other projects and programs.
Membership Benefits:
John W. Connaway Society founding members share the
satisfaction of knowing their philanthropy is critical
to the guidance of College of Veterinary Medicine for
today’s scholars and tomorrow’s veterinarians.
Founding members are entitled to the following:
Invitations to special events
at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
A unique limited edition color
print of College of Veterinary Medicine Campus buildings
drawn by John Stoeckley.
Membership in the Jefferson Club.
Recognition at an annual dinner.
Recognition in College of
Veterinary Medicine and University of Missouri publications.

Membership Levels:
Donors may designate gifts as restricted and are invited

Sustaining Membership:
Outright gift or pledge:
Contribute or pledge one of the amounts listed below
over no more than a ten-year period. Irrevocable
trusts are included as an outright gift.
Testamentary Gift:
Signify the intention to provide one of the amounts
listed below by means of a bequest, life insurance,
or other type of deferred gift.
Annual Members contribute cash
on an annual basis of at least $1,000. All memberships
are renewable on January 1. All previous annual
contributions to the College of Veterinary Medicine
count toward Sustaining Membership fulfillment.
*Qualifying charitable
trust contributions are treated in the same manner
as outright gifts and pledges.
