Dr.
Melvin Gerstner Named to
Jefferson Club Board of Trustees
MU alumnus Melvin Gerstner, DVM ’66,
was recently named to the Jefferson Club Board of Trustees.
Dr. Gerstner has been involved with the University in various
capacities over the years and has agreed to serve a three-year
term on the board. He is the owner of Highland Park Animal
Hospital in Pasadena, CA. Dr. Gerstner also travels the world
volunteering for a group called World Concern, an organization
of professionals from many disciplines dedicated to helping
the poorest families.
The Jefferson Club assists the University
of Missouri-Columbia in achieving its fundraising goals by
encouraging more substantial private giving. Named in honor
of Thomas Jefferson, the Jefferson Club recognizes the historic
and philosophic ties MU has with the president. Through the
Jefferson Club, alumni and friends who share his commitment
to the equality of public higher education band together to
support MU, the first state university in the Louisiana Purchase.
