is dedicated to training the next generation of veterinarians and researchers as well as the public.

The Neurology & Neurosurgery Residency

The Comparative Neurology Program offers a three year residency with the goal of board certfication in neurology & neurosurgery by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Candidates are matched through the VIRMP and must obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Missouri.

Education

Veterinary Students

During the pre-clinical curriculum, veterinary students are introduced to the diseases of the nervous system, the diagnostic approach to disease and therapeutic options. During their clinical rotations in neurology & neurosurgery, they learn to apply these principles to help the patients under their care.

Continuing Education for Veterinarians

The Comparative Neurology Program faculty present continuing education programs around the world to share their knowledge of neurologic diseaes and therapy with other veterinarians.

Public Education

Informed clients are the best clients. The Comparative Neurology Program faculty also work to inform the public through lectures to breed clubs, civic organizations, and others. We also maintain public information websites such as this to educate anyone interested in the diseases and our research to find solutions.
